The annual vignette is valid for 14 months from the beginning of December to the end of January of the following year. So, for example, if you need a road stamp for a trip in December, your best bet is to buy a stamp for next year. An additional motorway mark is mandatory for trailers and caravans.

E-tolling on motorways is expected to be introduced from 2023. Probably, this electronic car brand can be bought through online stores. The e-vignette will be linked to the license plate of the vehicle.
Fee for vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tons
Vehicles over 3.5t gross vehicle weight are subject to a fixed heavy vehicle charge of EUR 2.96 per day (minimum charge is EUR 22.75). You pay for the use of any of the public roads at any time. Detailed information can be found at evz.admin.ch .
Where to buy swiss vietka
The motorway stamp, the so-called vignette, can be purchased in Switzerland at post offices, petrol stations, customs offices and points of sale of the Swiss Automobile Club TCS. A list of points of sale can be found on the official website evz.admin.ch . The website is available in German, French, Italian and English.

Grand Saint Bernard Tunnel Fee 2022
The toll fee for the Grand St. Bernard Tunnel depends on the category of vehicle.
There are categories
- A1: motorcycles
- A2: vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tons with a total height of up to 2 meters
- B1: vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tons and heights between 2 and 3 meters
- B2, B3: trucks and buses with two axles and over 3 meters in height

In addition to the above price list, you can take advantage of special offers for 10 or 20 transitions valid for two calendar years. With more frequent use, the prices for the transition are much more profitable.

Fines for the vignette
Drivers without a valid toll will pay a fine of 182 euros and are also required to purchase the toll immediately. In total, the trip without a vignette will cost 218 euros. Drivers with bad or repeated stamps will pay the same fine.
Where to stick a car vignette
Glue the entire surface of the stamp to either the bottom left corner, top left corner, or in the middle of the rear view mirror. Choose a location where it does not obstruct your view and where it is easy to see from the outside. For a motorcycle, place a mark in the lower left corner of the inside of the windshield. For a caravan, put it on the front window that looks like a car. See the back of the vignette for instructions.
The Swiss have perhaps the widest system of fines. The game also has a prison for at least one year! We strongly do not recommend exceeding the speed limit, the Swiss themselves are very decent drivers. Beware of other crimes such as throwing cigarette butts out of a vehicle, not using a turn signal, driving through a red light, all are punished very severely. We also meet the term daily fine (German: Tagessatze), which is calculated according to your income and standard of living, and you are actually required to pay a daily amount.

Tires
In Switzerland, there is no legal obligation to fit a car with winter tires. It is recommended to change tires before the first snow falls, that is, from October to Easter.
Winter tires are mandatory when winter conditions (snow, ice, ice) prevail. The minimum tread depth for winter tires is 4 mm.
The obligatory nature of snow chains in certain sections is regulated by the relevant road signs.
Seat belts
All vehicle passengers must wear seat belts.
Children in the car
Children under 12 years of age must be seated in a special child seat or on a cushion if their height is less than 150 cm.
Children over 150 cm and children over 12 years of age must wear a seat belt.
Children must be secured in a child seat according to their weight and age. The seat must carry the appropriate ECE safety label.
In principle, children can sit in the front passenger seat regardless of age. If your vehicle is equipped with airbags, rear-facing car seats can only be used if the front passenger airbag is deactivated.
The fine for transporting an unfastened child under the age of 12 is 1436 ₴ .
Alcohol while driving
The Swiss Federal Road Traffic Act (SVG/LCR) contains harsher penalties for young (beginner) and professional drivers. They have zero tolerance for alcohol in the blood, and for experienced drivers the limit is 0.5 ‰.
- 0.5 (0.1 for novice and professional drivers) – 0.79 ‰ – in the event of a first violation of the warning and a high fine as a result of income and standard of living, repeat offenders (up to 2 years) or drivers who violate other rules or cause accidents the certificate will be withdrawn for at least one month
- more than 0.8 ‰ – deprivation of a driver’s license for at least three months, there is also a risk of a fine and up to three years in prison

Daytime Running Lights
Cars (cars, vans, trucks and buses) and motorcycles must have headlights during daylight hours. Mopeds, e-bikes, and vehicles registered before 1970 are exempt from this requirement.
Convoy driving rules
If the so-called rescue line/alley on the motorway is not created, the driver is fined 80 euros. The same fine is imposed on drivers who do not respect the zipper in the constriction on the track.
