Motorways in Armenia
The length of motor roads in Armenia is 7792 km. Of these, dirt roads – 7,558 km. Gravel roads – 234 km.
Toll roads
Since 2018, motorway tolls have been abolished for vehicles registered in other countries. Previously, there was a charge for every 15 days of stay (AMD 10,000 (€16) for cars).
Ecological fee
For emissions of pollutants by vehicles registered in other vehicles entering and operating on the territory of the Republic of Armenia, a tax is levied corresponding to the type and carrying capacity of the vehicle:

Payment for pollutant emissions is made at the entrance to the territory of the Republic of Armenia. Payment is made in AMD.
Parking in Armenia
Yerevan has a system of paid parking and fines for non-payment of parking. Parking spaces on city streets are marked with red lines.

The first 15 minutes of parking are free. Also, payment is not subject to the time from 24:00 to 09:00 in the morning.
Failure to pay for a parking space will result in a fine of 5,000 AMD (€8).
If the vehicle is parked for more than 48 hours without payment, it will be towed for confiscation.
In practice, most parking spaces at attractions or large shopping malls cost between 200 and 250 drams (0.32 to 0.4 euros).

Armenia is not among the countries where the international insurance system operates – Green Card (Green Card). At the same time, from January 1, 2011, the requirement for compulsory insurance of motor vehicles and civil liability came into force.
The amount of the insurance premium depends on the engine size, the age of the driver (up to 23 years and older) and his driving experience (up to 3 years and older).
Currently, it is possible to travel from the territory of Russia to Armenia only through the territory of Georgia.
In addition, you can enter the territory of Armenia from the Iranian side by car.
Entry from Azerbaijan and Turkey is not yet possible .

Speed limit
Standard speed limits in Armenia (unless otherwise noted on signs).
Cars (up to 3.5 tons) and motorcycles:

Low beam is not required if you are driving during the day. The low beam should be switched on at night and when visibility is poor due to bad weather.

Children under 12 who are not equipped with a restraint system appropriate for their weight cannot be carried in the front seats.

Seat belts
The use of seat belts for passengers is mandatory. The fine is 5000 drams (8 euros).
Make a phone call
Driving calls can only be made if the vehicle is equipped with a hands-free system. The fine is 3000 drams (5 euros).

Winter tires
Since Armenia is part of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the use of winter tires is officially mandatory from December 1 to March 1.
