Fuse box diagram (location, functions, purpose) in the passenger compartment and engine compartment of the Acura TL (1995, 1996, 1997, 1998).

Checking and replacing fuses

Fuses protect your vehicle’s electrical systems from short circuits. To check a fuse, look at the silver strip inside the fuse. If the strip is broken or melted, replace the fuse. Be sure to replace a faulty fuse with a new one of the same size and rating.

Fuses of the same amperage may be temporarily taken from another fuse location if the fuse is blown. Replace the fuse as soon as possible.

Note

  • Before replacing a fuse, make sure the key has been removed from the ignition and that all services are turned off and/or disconnected.
  • When replacing a blown fuse, it is important to use only a fuse with the correct ampere rating. Using a fuse with a different rating than specified may result in a dangerous overload of the electrical system.
  • If a properly rated fuse continues to blow, this indicates a problem in the circuit that needs to be corrected.
